Quick 2024 retro

If I really wrote about all that happened in 2024 I’d never get anything done, so this is a quick update.

2024 was a tough year. Cate bailed out of a bad job, we moved everything we own twice, Cate got REALLY sick for a month and is still recovering, our beautiful Mercedes died after only one year of use, leaving us with a fat loan to pay off, my work took a bit of a dive while we dealt with everything and… it was just a lot.

In my last post I talked about interviewing for Apple. That didn’t work out, but the manager doing the hiring said I was Apple material and should be in the company. That was nice, but it’s not a job.

December was nice. I got a nice fat contract that paid for Christmas comfortably, the girls came up to visit, it snowed, and things were comfortable.

2025 is already looking better. Work is coming in, money is more stable, we have a nice new vehicle, and we’re happy with where we live. The featured image for this post is the horizon from our front door.
